Is zakat obligatory on money received from selling gold jewelry before purchasing another piece with it, and what is the current nisab?

If some jewelry is sold, its price is not subject to zakat—based on the view that jewelry itself is not subject to zakat—unless a full year has passed on it and it reaches the nisab by itself or when combined with other money. The nisab for banknotes is equivalent to the value of 85 grams of gold.
