To what extent is the statement true that masturbation is among the things about which the Sharia has remained silent, by analogy with the Hadith: "Leave me as I leave you; for verily, what destroyed those before you was their excessive questioning and their differing with their prophets. So, if I forbid you from something, then avoid it, and if I command you with something, then do of it what you are able to do"?

The silence of the Shariah regarding a specific act places it under the category of forgiveness and non-accountability, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "What Allah has made lawful in His Book is lawful, and what He has made unlawful is unlawful, and what He has remained silent about is pardoned. So accept Allah's pardon, and your Lord is never forgetful." However, masturbation does not fall into this category, as there is evidence in the Quran and Sunnah (definition) that indicates its prohibition.
