What was the language Adam spoke when he descended to Earth, and when did the division of peoples and the multiplicity of languages occur?

Allah Almighty taught Adam all languages and names. Allah created humanity from a single soul and made them into peoples and tribes for mutual acquaintance. He fashioned them with differences in doctrines and opinions; had He willed, He would have made them one nation. The diversity of languages is among the proofs of Allah's greatness. Nations diverged and their languages multiplied so that each person could express what is on their mind. As for the history of this division, there is no explicit evidence, but it might have begun with Noah's three sons: Shem, to whom the Arabs are attributed; Japheth, to whom theynchronized are attributed the Turks and Romans; and Ham, to whom are attributed the Abyssinians and Berbers.
