Is it permissible for a husband to have intercourse with his wife before expiating for intercourse during daylight hours in Ramadan, by analogy with the expiation for ẓihār, or is the ruling different?

The expiation for intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan is like the expiation for Zihar: freeing a slave. If one cannot, then fasting for two consecutive months. If one cannot, then feeding sixty poor people. This is based on the Hadith of Abu Hurairah, in which a man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and informed him that he had intercourse with his wife during Ramadan. Unlike the expiation for Zihar, where it is forbidden to have intercourse with one's wife before expiating, based on the Almighty's saying: "before they touch each other," it is permissible to have intercourse before expiating in the case of expiation for intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan and expiation for killing, and it is permissible during the nights of the two consecutive months.
