What is the ruling on the prayer of a breastfeeding wife whose menstrual cycle dates fluctuate, and bleeding continued beyond her usual period, then exceeded the maximum duration of menstruation (15 days), only to be later discovered that it was blood resulting from an incomplete pregnancy, knowing that she stopped praying during these stages and resumed after visiting the doctor?

If it becomes clear that the blood is a result of a miscarriage where the fetus was not formed, then the blood is considered istihadah (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding). The wife must make up the prayers she missed, because they were obligatory upon her. This is the opinion of the majority of scholars. Some scholars hold that there is no need to make up prayers for one who missed them due to an interpretation (ta’wil), citing that the Prophet did not order the woman with istihadah to make up what she missed. However, the more cautious opinion is the first one.
