Is it permissible for a stomach cancer patient who has an opening in their abdomen from which fluids and waste exit, to combine the two prayers?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is permissible for the sick to combine two prayers, either by advancing or delaying them, as this falls under the category of legitimate excuses, similar to the woman with irregular bleeding whom the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted to do so. Imam Ahmad argued for its permissibility for the sick because their condition is more severe than travel. It must be noted that the sick person for whom combining prayers is permissible should pray each prayer in full without shortening it, as shortening is specific to travel, while combining is due to need and excuse to remove hardship from the Ummah.
