Is it permissible for a man to have intercourse with his wife while they are facing the Qiblah or with their backs to it, and is there a specific direction that is disliked for this?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on facing the Qiblah during intercourse. Some, like Ibn al-Qasim, permitted it, while others, like Ibn Habib, deemed it reprehensible. No explicit text from Malik was narrated concerning this issue, but Ibn al-Qasim held the view that there is no harm in it.
