Is it permissible for an adult man to sleep in the same bed with his mother, on the pretext of seeing her infrequently due to his residence in another country?

It is permissible for an adult man to sleep with his mother in the same bed if the bed is spacious enough that each of them has their own sleeping place and their own covering, even if the blanket is shared. This includes ensuring there is no physical contact. However, if the bed is narrow and leads to physical contact, it is not permissible. The long absence of the son does not justify this, because the scholars have stipulated the separation between males and females after the age of ten, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "And separate them in their beds."
