The answer

The money deposited in the bank, the cash on hand, and the value of remaining goods are subject to zakat if a full year (hawl) has passed over them, after deducting debts that are not offset by other assets. So, if you are indebted by forty-five thousand and have no corresponding assets, deduct this amount from your wealth. Whatever remains after that is subject to zakat if it reaches the nisab by itself or when combined with trade goods. The nisab for banknotes is the equivalent value of 85 grams of gold.
