Is it sufficient to increase supererogatory prayers and voluntary acts of worship to compensate for missed obligatory prayers, instead of making them up, based on the opinion of some scholars?

The majority of scholars are of the opinion that intentionally missed prayers must be made up (qada'), and this is the madhhab of the four Imams. However, some are of the view that making them up is neither obligatory nor valid, because making up prayers, by the command of the Lawgiver, is specific to those who missed prayers due to a valid excuse. The first opinion is more cautious and more absolving of responsibility.
