Do the angels' presence expel devils, or is it the other way around?

The presence of angels indicates the departure of devils, and vice versa. The house in which the Quran is recited is attended by angels and devils depart from it; it expands for its inhabitants and its blessings increase. Whereas the house in which the Quran is not recited is attended by devils and angels depart from it; it constricts for its inhabitants and its blessings diminish.
