Does the divorce of an enraged person take effect if he utters the words while in a state of extreme anger, hunger, and thirst, without being aware of what he is saying, and is it permissible to adopt the view of Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah that such a divorce does not take effect?

The fatwa we follow is that the divorce pronounced by an angry person is valid as long as he is aware and not overcome by his intellect. Some scholars hold the view that the divorce of an angry person is not valid if his anger is severe, even if his intellect has not completely departed. If this pronouncement does not complete three divorces, you may take your wife back before the expiry of her 'iddah. Know that anger is the key to evil.
