The answer

Feeding and making up for the missed fasts (qada') are obligatory for whoever delays making up for until the next Ramadan overtakes them without a valid excuse, and for pregnant or breastfeeding women if they break their fasts out of fear for their children. The amount of feeding is one mudd of food (approximately 750 grams) or half a sa' of food other than wheat (approximately 1.5 kilograms). It is permissible to give the to a single needy person for multiple days, and it is permissible to give the feeding before making up the fasts, or concurrently with it, or after it. The best is to offer it promptly, in order to hasten to good deeds and clear oneself of the obligation.
