If the deceased grandmother is the husband's sister, then the grandfather (her brother) makes her an 'asaba if he is a full brother or a paternal brother. In this case, he takes the remainder after the husband's one-quarter and the daughter's one-half. However, if he is only a maternal brother, he does not inherit with the presence of the daughter.
