What is the ruling on a committed girl who wears loose-fitting clothes and jilbabs participating in mixed sports activities at the university that require wearing sportswear, performing movements and dances, and involving the task of energizing colleagues? Is it better to be absent from these courses, even if it leads to failing?

It is forbidden to study dance and music if the study necessitates a violation of Islamic law, such as inappropriate dress or dancing in front of non-mahram men, because this is one of the greatest causes of temptation. Such study is not permissible, even if it leads to academic failure. It is suggested to strive for the segregation of women's studies from men in these subjects, and if this is not approved, there is no need to continue with the study. One must seek a way to study that does not result in falling into a forbidden act according to Islamic law. Obedience to parents is not permissible in matters that involve disobedience to Allah.
