What is the ruling on a woman traveling by plane without a mahram from Riyadh to Jizan?

The majority of scholars hold that it is not permissible for a woman to travel without a mahram (definition), except in cases of pressing necessity, such as migrating from a land of disbelief to a land of Islam. Some scholars have permitted a woman to travel without a mahram if there is no fear of fitna (temptation/strife), even if it is not due to necessity, especially if the travel is by plane.
