Is it permissible to fast on a Saturday to avoid masturbation that is practiced on that day?

Fasting helps in weakening desires and protecting against sin, as guided by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. It is disliked by the majority of scholars to single out Saturday for fasting, therefore, one should fast a day before or after it. However, if fasting is only possible on Saturday due to a need, then there is no harm in fasting on it.
