How do the rulings of Islam apply to space travelers?

Muslims traveling through space must adhere to worship and obligations. If they can distinguish between night and day within 24 hours, then prayer and fasting are obligatory upon them. However, if the day or night extends beyond 24 hours, they must estimate the times for prayers and fasting based on the nearest point on Earth where the times are distinguishable.
