What is the ruling on pus discharge from a person afflicted with an anal fissure, and what are the implications for prayer?

Pus is considered impure by the majority of scholars, and its exit from either of the two private parts nullifies ablution (Wudu'). However, its exit from other than these does not nullify ablution unless the fissure is inside the anus.

If the discharge of pus is continuous, then the ruling of سلس ( سلس al-salas, continuous discharge) applies to it. In this case, one must take precautions against it, perform ablution after the entry of the prayer time, and pray with that ablution.

If it does not nullify ablution, then one must still take precautions against it so that impurity does not spread onto clothes, unless there is harm in doing so.
