What is the definition of a disbeliever (kafir) and a polytheist (mushrik), and what is the difference between them? Will the disbeliever or polytheist abide eternally in Hellfire, and for how long will they remain there? What is the difference between the Children of Israel and the Jews of today? What is the difference between Jews and Christians in terms of religion, punishment in the afterlife, impurity, and lineage from them? Will any of the People of the Book abide or dwell in Hellfire, and what are the reasons leading to that?

"Kafir" (disbeliever) is derived from "kufr" (disbelief), which is the denial of some of what must be believed. "Mushrik" (polytheist) is derived from "shirk" (polytheism), which is associating partners with God. Sometimes, both terms are used interchangeably, and sometimes "shirk" is specifically used for idolaters who acknowledge God, making "kufr" more general than "shirk." The disbeliever and the polytheist will abide eternally in Hellfire due to their disbelief in what the Messenger, peace be upon him, brought, as Allah Almighty said: "Indeed, those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures." (Quran 98:6) The Children of Israel are the descendants of Jacob, peace be upon him. As for the Jews of today, many of them are Khazar Jews. There is no difference between Jews and Christians in terms of punishment, impurity, and disbelief, for both fall under the general punishment of disbelievers and the impurity of polytheism. There is no relationship between lineage and religion, as Christians and Jews belong to different ethnicities.
