Is it permissible, in Sharia, to recite Surat Al-Kahf over water with the intention of separating my daughter from a young man she loves?
Such emotional relationships between young men and women are a gateway to evil and corruption. The girl's guardian must act with wisdom and firmness, through advice and supplicating for her righteousness; as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Three supplications are answered, no doubt about them: the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of a parent for their child." This must be accompanied by the parents' righteousness, through which Allah preserves their children, as in His Almighty saying: "And their father was righteous" (Al-Kahf: 82). Some scholars are of the view that Allah preserves, by a servant's righteousness, their child, their grandchild, and their kin.
