Why doesn't Allah answer my prayers, even though I pray, fast, read the Quran, and adhere to the Sunnah?

Allah answers the supplication of whoever calls upon Him, as He promised in the Qur'an: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you" (Qur'an 40:60) and "I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me" (Qur'an 2:186). The response to supplication takes three forms: hastening the fulfillment of the request, storing it for the Hereafter, or averting evil from the supplicant. Thus, a Muslim's supplication is never lost. Delayed response or non-fulfillment of the request may be better for him, for Allah knows best what is in his interest: "But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you" (Qur'an 2:216). Supplication also has conditions, impediments, and etiquettes that must be observed.
