Is it permissible for a son to gift something to a friend who has no children, and what is the reason for the ruling?

If the intended meaning of a gift here is a lawful gift, then it is not permissible by consensus, because a free person cannot be owned, and a father cannot transfer ownership of his son to another man. So, how can it be permissible for the son himself to be gifted?

If the intended meaning is handing him over by way of adoption, then it is forbidden by the Qur’an, Sunnah, and consensus.
