Is a collective prostration of gratitude to Allah by students after graduation, with the intention of renewing the blessing and recalling Allah's favor before the favor of creation, Islamically permissible?

Prostration of thankfulness (Sujud al-Shukr) is legislated upon receiving a blessing or repelling an affliction, such as the conversion of Hamdan to Islam and the Prophet's prostration of thanks, and Ka'b ibn Malik's prostration when his repentance was accepted.

However, delaying the prostration of thankfulness to perform it collectively and in a graduation ceremony is an innovated form of worship and is rejected, based on the Prophet's saying: "Whoever introduces into this matter of ours that which is not from it, it is rejected." Therefore, good intention is not sufficient unless it adheres to the legislated form.
