Working as a barber is permissible, provided that forbidden acts are avoided, such as shaving the beard, or cutting women's hair, or haircuts specific to disbelievers. If your partner shaves beards, you must distance yourself from the earnings derived from shaving beards or any other forbidden acts. There is no objection to benefiting from what resulted from permissible acts if it is distinct from the unlawful. However, if the earnings from permissible work are mixed with unlawful earnings, then one must investigate and dispose of the unlawful portion by giving it to charitable causes and alms.
