Will God forgive a wife who betrayed her husband—but without committing a forbidden act—and repented with sincere repentance? And is it permissible for her to continue in her work?

Whoever repents with a complete repentance, fulfilling its conditions, Allah accepts their repentance, as clarified by the noble verse: ﴿Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." And return [in repentance] to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped.﴾. What the righteous woman [Siddiqah] fell into is a consequence of unlawful mixing. If she is not compelled to work, then it is not permissible for her to work in a place where she mixes with non-mahram men, especially after what happened with her manager. We strongly advise her to leave this job and distance herself from this person to preserve her religion and her marriage; for her continued proximity to him may lead to a recurrence of what happened or something worse. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No man is alone with a woman but the third of them is Satan." If she leaves her job fleeing from sin, Allah will provide for her from where she does not expect, as Allah Almighty said: ﴿And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect.﴾

We draw attention to three matters: 1. The questioner's statement "she did not fall into the forbidden": Rather, she did fall into it. What is forbidden is not limited to adultery; what happened is forbidden, and its prohibition is intensified if the woman is married. 2. The mentioned reasons do not justify falling into the forbidden. In fact, what happened does not resolve marital disputes but rather exacerbates them. 3. What was obligatory upon her was sincere repentance, and she should not have disclosed what happened. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded a Muslim who falls into such sins to cover themselves with Allah's concealment and said: "Avoid these abominations that Allah Almighty has forbidden. So whoever is afflicted by any of them, let him conceal himself with the covering of Allah and repent to Allah Almighty."
