Is remorse and repentance for the crime of zina sufficient, or must the Hadd be carried out?
Adultery is one of the gravest sins. Means leading to it include the indecent exposure of women, the mixing of men with foreign women (non-mahram), and moral decay. If you commit adultery and then regret it and repent with sincere repentance, Allah will accept your repentance and forgive your sin, as stated in His noble words: "And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden them to kill, except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever does that will meet a penalty. The punishment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated. Except for those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds; for them Allah will change their evil deeds into good ones. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful." You must leave the corrupt environment that drives you to disobedience and seek sustenance elsewhere to preserve your religion, for "Allah's earth is vast."
