What is the ruling on one who is compelled to eat food containing the ingredient "GIMBO," which is said to contain pig's blood or flowing blood, and finds no alternative?

The scholars are in consensus regarding the prohibition of pork and flowing blood, based on the Almighty's saying: (Say, "I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to an eater who eats it, except that it be a dead animal or flowing blood or the flesh of swine — for indeed, that is impure") and His saying: (Forbidden to you are carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah).

Therefore, if one ascertains or presumes that "Jumbo" seasoning contains pig's blood or flowing blood from any other animal, then it is impermissible to consume food in which it is used. However, if it is merely a matter of doubt or illusion, then nothing that Allah has made lawful becomes forbidden thereby. Nevertheless, piety dictates abstaining from it when given a choice, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: (Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt).

As for cases of necessity, it is permissible to consume the aforementioned food, even if the presence of pork or flowing blood is confirmed, provided that the one in necessity finds nothing else, based on the Almighty's saying: (But whoever is compelled, neither desiring [it] nor transgressing, there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful).
