Abandoning prayer is an act of disbelief according to the majority of scholars, and one who abandons it must be called to it and encouraged to perform it. If he refuses, he is to be killed. It is permissible to engage in worldly dealings with him, such as buying and selling, following the example of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who dealt with disbelievers, and this might be more conducive to inclining him towards Islam.
