Is the reward for the forty prayers restored to one who went to a soothsayer without believing him, then repented?

The warning that the prayers of one who has gone to a soothsayer or diviner, or one who has drunk alcohol, will not be accepted, likely applies to those who have not repented. This is because repentance erases what came before it, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin." As for one who repents after the forty days have passed, it cannot be definitively asserted that they will regain the reward for those prayers. However, Allah's grace is vast, and He may compensate them with the reward for those prayers if they are sincere in their repentance.
