Does the prohibition of a wife to her husband occur if a man conditions her divorce upon her entering her family's home, intending thereby to deter his parents from interfering in his marital life after the wife left the house without his knowledge?

The questioner's oath by divorcing his wife if she enters the house is a conditional divorce, and it takes effect, according to the majority of jurists, upon her entry. Some scholars, like Ibn Taymiyyah, held that if he intended threat or prevention, the divorce does not occur, but he is liable for an expiation for breaking an oath.

As for his statement, "That's it, my wife is now forbidden," it is unclear, but the preponderant opinion is that it is considered ẓihār, whether it is immediate or conditional.

He should treat his parents and his wife gently. Allah commanded companionship with parents in kindness and to bear what emanates from them, and likewise with the wife. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, advised gentleness with her because she was created from a crooked rib, and enjoyment of her comes with her crookedness.
