What is the authenticity of the saying attributed to Jesus (peace be upon him): "No one will enter the kingdom of heaven unless he is born twice"?

This statement attributed to Jesus, peace be upon him: "No one will enter the kingdom of heaven and earth who is not born twice," is not found in the Sunnah collections. Some scholars have interpreted it as shedding animalistic traits through self-purification. Ibn al-Qayyim held that the second birth is the birth of the heart and soul, their emergence from the placenta of the self and the darkness of nature.
