Is it permissible to perform the Eid prayer at home individually, and how is it done?

Eid prayer is a confirmed Sunnah (definition) for men and women, and it is preferable to perform it in congregation. Whoever misses the Eid prayer in congregation may pray it alone at home. It consists of two rak'ahs: the first begins with seven takbirat after the takbirat al-ihram (definition), and in the second, there are five takbirat after the takbirat al-qiyam (definition). The recitation in both should be audible, and there is no khutbah (definition) except for those praying in congregation.
