What is the view on Ibn Hajar al-Haytami's statement about Ibn Taymiyyah: "وفي عقله شيء" ("and there is something in his intellect")?

We have not come across this statement, and even if we assume its authenticity, it does not disparage Shaykh al-Islam because his imamate is agreed upon. It would be considered a lapse on the part of Ibn Hajar al-Haytami, forgivable in light of his virtue and knowledge. The statements of peers among people of virtue concerning one another are not to be relied upon. If a person's imamate and integrity are established, and those who praise him are numerous while those who criticize him are few, and there is an indication of the reason for his criticism, such as sectarian bias or other factors, then his criticism is not given attention.
