What is to be understood from the noble Prophetic Hadith: "The worst two tribes among the Arabs: Najran and Banu Taghlib"?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Hadith indicating that the two worst tribes among the Arabs are Najran and Banu Taghlib was narrated by Ahmad and Al-Hakim, and its chain of transmission is authentic. However, this does not mean that every individual from these two tribes is evil, just as the preference for Banu Hashim does not mean that every individual among them is virtuous. Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, upon you is [responsibility for] yourselves. Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided" (Quran 5:105), and "And every soul earns not [anything] except for itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another" (Quran 6:164). Therefore, the Hadith should be viewed from this perspective, and it should not be an impediment to righteousness and good for anyone who belongs to one of these two tribes.
