Is the Hadith: "What an excellent people are the 'Anazah; they are oppressed, yet victorious" authentic?
The hadith in question was narrated by Ahmad from Hanzalah ibn Nu'aym that 'Umar asked him, "From where are you?" He replied, "From 'Anazah." 'Umar then said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'A tribe from here, oppressed, will be victorious.'" Al-Arna'ut said: Its chain of narration is weak. The author of Kanz al-'Ummal reported that Al-Haythami mentioned it in Majma' al-Zawa'id and said: "(It was narrated by Abu Ya'la in Al-Kabeer and Al-Bazzar, and one of Abu Ya'la's chains of narration has all trustworthy narrators)."
