How is the inheritance divided among 6 sons, 4 daughters, and a wife?
If the heirs are limited to the wife, sons, and daughters, and the deceased left no other heirs, then the wife receives one-eighth due to the existence of a lineal descendant, as Allah Almighty says: "But if you have a child, then for them is one eighth of what you leave, after any bequest you [may have] made or debt." The remainder is for the sons and daughters by virtue of 'asabah (agnatic relationship), with the male receiving the share of two females, as Allah Almighty says: "Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females."
Thus, the inheritance is divided into 128 shares: the wife receives 16 shares (one-eighth), each son receives 14 shares, and each daughter receives 7 shares.
Inheritance matters should be referred to courts for investigation, as there might be another heir, bequests, debts, or other rights that take precedence over the heirs' rights.
