Is it permissible for a woman who has been irrevocably divorced, while she is in her iddah (waiting period), to attend social occasions such as weddings?

It is permissible for a woman observing her iddah (waiting period) to go out during the day to attend to her needs, whether she is divorced or widowed. However, it is not permissible for her to spend the night outside her home or to go out at night, except out of necessity. The Malikis have explicitly permitted a woman observing iddah due to an irrevocable divorce or death to attend weddings, provided she does not adorn herself and does not spend the night anywhere other than her own home.
