The Night Journey and Ascension (Al-Isra wal-Mi'raj) took one night. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was taken on the journey at night and was back in Mecca by morning. As narrated in the of Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, informed the Quraysh of what had happened. Some of them disbelieved him, while others were astonished. They asked him to describe Jerusalem, so he described it to them accurately after the Mosque was raised for him to see while he was looking at it.
