Is memorizing the Quran and acting upon it considered Tazkiyah (purification) or Tahliyah (beautification)?

The Quran purifies and adorns a Muslim if they act upon its teachings, obey its commands, and avoid its prohibitions. This leads them to acquire praiseworthy characteristics and abandon blameworthy ones. A Muslim should recite it, ponder upon it, and examine their commitment to its commands, prohibitions, and ethics. As Ibn Mas'ud said: "It behooves the bearer of the Quran to be known by his night when people are asleep, by his day when people are breaking their fast, by his sadness when people are joyful, by his weeping when people are laughing, by his silence when people are chattering, and by his humility when people are boastful. It behooves the bearer of the Quran to be weeping, sorrowful, wise, forbearing, knowledgeable, and tranquil. It behooves the bearer of the Quran not to be harsh, heedless, boisterous, loud-mouthed, or sharp-tongued."
