Is it true what Islam is accused of regarding the issue of those whose hearts are to be reconciled [al-mu’allafati qulubuhum]: that it is a bribe and enticement with money to enter Islam?

Giving money to win hearts is not bribery. Bribery is money paid to nullify a right or establish a falsehood. Winning hearts, on the other hand, aims to encourage people towards Islam, and it is a form of jihad through wealth. Allah Almighty has allocated a share in zakat for those whose hearts are to be won over. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave them money from the spoils of Hunayn, which led to entire tribes embracing Islam. This is an ongoing matter and a resource for Da'wah (proselytizing); for humans are naturally inclined to love those who treat them kindly. The correct stance for a Muslim is to adhere to clear and authentic scriptural texts, regardless of whether they align with contemporary culture or not.
