What is the ruling on participating in "the wheel of fortune" that offers a discount on the price of purchases, knowing that spinning it does not require payment?

It is permissible to use a "wheel of fortune" to obtain a discount on the price of a commodity, provided two conditions are met:

1. The commodity must be sold at market price, not higher than it due to the prize; lest it fall under Maysir (gambling). 2. The buyer must purchase the commodity because they need it, not solely for the prize; lest it be considered squandering of money.

There is no objection to the gift or discount being unknown, as Jahala (uncertainty) does not affect contracts of donations. The state's intervention in regulating this to prevent harm to other merchants remains, if necessary.
