- What is the ruling on buying and selling organs from a Muslim or from a disbeliever?

For a sale to be valid, the seller must own the item being sold, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Do not sell what you do not possess." Scholars have unanimously agreed on the invalidity of a person selling what he does not own. Human organs are not his property, and he has not been granted lawful permission to sell them. Therefore, selling them falls under the category of selling what one does not own. Furthermore, a person selling his own organs involves debasing himself, whereas Allah has honored the children of Adam. Many jurists have justified the prohibition of selling human body parts by citing its contravention of Allah's honoring of humanity.
