Is it permissible to file down or straighten excessively large teeth in order to correct the jaw's position and eliminate the psychological and physical harm resulting therefrom?

All that you have mentioned, such as the misalignment of your jaws, one protruding, your upper teeth being large, the difficulty in closing your mouth, your teeth resting on your lower lip, and your lip drooping and bleeding from it, is considered clear disfigurement.

The prohibition against filing teeth was mentioned in a hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. However, this action becomes permissible if it alleviates your suffering and removes the disfigurement, because what is forbidden is that which is done to increase beauty, not to remove a defect. And if you bear this affliction with patience, you will be rewarded by Allah.
