What is the meaning of the noble verse: "then let another woman suckle for him" [Quran 65:6], and does it mean the obligation to bring another wet nurse? And is the verse "And if you wish to have your children suckled by a wet nurse, there is no blame upon you" [Quran 2:233] considered an indicator that changes the ruling from obligation to permissibility?

The verse, "And if you find difficulty, another woman will suckle for him" (2:233), means that the father should seek another wet nurse for his child if one of the spouses makes it difficult for the other regarding the nursing fee. This is an obligation upon the father. As for the verse, "And if you want to have your children suckled by a wet nurse, there is no blame upon you, provided you pay what you have agreed to in a fair manner" (2:233), it legitimizes seeking a wet nurse when the mother is unable to breastfeed her child or refuses to do so, on condition that the husband pays the wet nurse's fee. There is nothing in the verse from Surat al-Baqarah that diverts the obligation of the husband to seek a wet nurse for his child if he does not agree with his divorced wife on the nursing fee; rather, it permits seeking a wet nurse and obligates the payment of the fee to the wet nurse.
