Is it forbidden for a man's family to take his salary if he works for a cigarette company?

It was previously explained that working for cigarette companies is forbidden. The income derived from such work could potentially be permissible based on the validity of the contract, or forbidden because when Allah forbids something, He also forbids its price. As for family members taking from the salary of their provider who works for a tobacco company, if the salary is deemed permissible, then there is no issue. However, if it is deemed forbidden, then taking from it is not prohibited according to some scholars, because unlawful earnings are related to the responsibility of the earner, not to their money. This offers a concession and leniency, especially since the prohibition of cigarettes may be unclear to many.
