The young man must immediately repent of all sins, especially abandoning prayer and the ensuing destructive acts like fornication and drinking alcohol. He should be advised gently and kindly. As for the young woman, she must avoid him because he is a stranger to her. If he repents and his religion and character become upright, then she may accept him as a husband. Otherwise, she should completely disregard him and be wary of such individuals, as some of them set traps for young women.
