Keeping women away from places of mixing (of genders) and from going out unnecessarily is safer for their religion, their morals, and their honor; based on the Almighty’s saying: "And abide in your houses," and on the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "This [refers to staying in their homes] then the backs of mats [meaning to go out only when necessary, like a mat is used then rolled up and put away]."
