What is the ruling on one who procrastinates in paying his share of the price of a jointly-owned sacrificial animal (Uḍḥiyah), and pays it deficiently years after its slaughter?

Scholars differed on the permissibility of seven individuals sharing the price of a sacrificial animal (udhiyah). Malik prohibited it, while the majority permitted it, and their view is the most correct. If a brother agrees with his siblings to participate in a seventh of a large animal (badanah), he must pay what he committed to if he is able, and procrastination is not permissible. He is advised to promptly fulfill his obligation and seek assistance through the virtue of spending (in charity) and supplication.
