Is my staying for one year in a country other than my own, with no transportation available to the mosque and difficulty walking to it, considered travel that permits me to shorten and combine prayers at home in congregation with my family, and does Friday prayer become non-obligatory for me?

It is not permissible to miss congregational prayers for one who hears the call, except for a valid excuse such as illness or fear. It is obligatory according to the most preponderant opinion of the scholars. Missing Friday prayer is a greater sin, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, some people will stop abandoning Friday prayers, or Allah will seal their hearts, and then they will be among the heedless." And whoever intends to stay for four days or more in a town does not take the ruling of a traveler; therefore, he must complete the prayers at their appointed times without combining them, and it is not permissible for him to break his fast in Ramadan (definition). This is the most preponderant opinion.
